The World of Cecil Taylor Air New York City R&B (it wasn't). So the completist should get this box set and Cell Walk for Celeste, or even better, get The Complete Nat Hentoff Sessions, which has all the tracks from these sessions plus the Cecil tracks from E2 Air (Take 28) F1 Air (Take 29) F2 Port of.

Not on a cerebral plane for many nor for cocktail parties. Nat Hentoff produced sessions that demonstated Taylor's talent now presented in a 4CD format. Fully documented. Difficult to dissect the numbers. 'Mine' 'Afternoon' and 'I forgot' are outstanding. The Newport tracks and those with Jimmy Lyons merely add to the quality of Cecil Taylor/5(11).

TAYLOR, CECIL - Complete Nat Hentoff Sessions - Amazon Other jazz artists heard on the Candid sessions are Archie Shepp (who seems to have some trouble with Taylor's music-listen to the takes of "Air")-tenor sax, Sunny Murray drums, Roswell Rudd (who fits in nicely)-trombone, Steve Lacy (likewise)-soprano sax, and Billy Higgins-drums /5(9).

8: 8. Cecil Taylor Air () NYC, October 12 & 13, Studio. Released No overlap with #7 above. (Note: There is an early s LP with the same title that, confusingly, includes the exact same tracks as The World of Cecil Taylor.)This CD essentially collects all the remaining tracks (save "Air (take 5)") from the October sessions.
